Casting Call! North Coast is looking to cast a permanent new beatboxer!
It is with sadness that we announce that our long-time Beatboxer and cast member, Shaun Fisher, is moving to LA to seek greener pastures. He is absolutely irreplaceable in our eyes - but we’ve got to start somewhere.
We are looking for an accomplished beatboxer to join the team. All interested parties should contact us via email, and be available for an audition (or rehearsal sit-in), at a time to be determined.
A little about what we’re looking for:
- Must have stamina; must be able to beatbox for a long time (Rehearsals are two hours and shows are usually 30 minutes but can go up to an hour.)
- Should be able to display a variety of beats (not only different in tempo and syncopation but different genres as well)
- Must be available for weekly rehearsals (currently Sunday nights, but may change)
- Must be available for numerous shows in NYC - sometimes weekly.
- Improv comedy experience is a huge plus
- Looking for someone who wants to support and be a part of a larger team and awesome family!
A little about North Coast::
We are New York’s premier freestyle rapping, beatboxing, long-form improv comedy team. We are currently an independent team (no permanent home) but we perform all over New York City at all of the big comedy veniues, such as Upright Citizen’s Brigade, UCB East, and the Magnet Theater and we have a regular monthly show at The People’s Improv Theater. We also do private gigs, Corporate gigs, and perform in festivals around the country. For more info about us, click here.

Earlier this year, North Coast battled it out against a bunch of awesome improv teams and won - 4 times! Those wins have entered us as the 4th seeded team out of 8 and tonight: We have our Playoffs match!
